Used to degrade animal waste at:
Intensive farming of animal livestock generates vast volumes of waste to be treated. Animal waste is commonly discharged into water bodies such as rivers and lakes, which cause severe pollution problems. Animal waste stored in waste pits or storage lagoons may pollute ground water when the waste leaches into soil. Recognizing this problem, many governments have started to ensure that any wastewater discharged from a livestock farm meets specified requirements for factors such as Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD, mg/l), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD mg/l) and pH. However, many farms may not have proper waste treatment facilities and thus, find it difficult to meet such government requirements. Additionally, other problems associated with animal waste is that the waste collection areas act as breeding areas for pests such as flies (which are a common vector that spread diseases between farms). Severe bad odors from poultry and pig farms pollute the surrounding air, reducing the quality of life of farmers, residents and farm animals. BIO FARM MD™ is formulated from multiple strains of facultative bacteria that work to increase the rate of degradation of animal manure. Since the bacteria used are facultative, this means that the product can work with or without oxygen. The regular use of BIO FARM MD™ helps to solve many common problems on waste management at animal farms such as high BOD, COD and bad odors. BIO FARM MD™ also helps to greatly reduce the prevalence of fly breeding in the waste.
Recommended Treatment The measured dosage of BIO FARM MD™ must be soaked (hydrated) in up to 20 liters of water (taken from the pond or area to be treated, if possible) for 30 minutes. The hydrated BIO FARM MD™ can then be evenly applied onto areas to be treated. Please contact US BIOTICS or your closest authorized dealers for help in the determination for a proper treatment program. |
